Time? What’s that?

I totally agree. Time is very important for people with “non-straight” hair. Most of the time it takes a lot of time and money to take care of our hair.

But I totally agree with you. . .

Keeping our hair well hydrated is VERY important.

Ok, any more comments out there?

African American Hair

I just want to dedicate a little time to talk about African American hair. . .

People with natural kinky, curly hair really have a hard time trying to find good, healthy products.

To straighten our hair, usually the process includes harsh chemicals, expensive products and a lot of time.

I am in search of a product that will help keep the hair healthy but also be available to everyone.

African American hair becomes very brittle and damaged after continuous use, if it is not taken care of correctly.

Many experience hair loss, extreme dandruff, thinness of hair, etc.

Question. . .

African Americans:

What are some of the obstacles you face trying to keep your hair healthy?

Dry Hair?

Have really dry hair?

Try these helpful tips:

  • Wash hair only 2 or 3 times a week. Why? According to news. softpedia.com, “Biologically, sebum has the role of protecting our hair from getting too dry or dehydrated and it also gives the hair’s natural shine. When sebum is removed from the hair by washing, the sebaceous glands will produce an excessive amount of sebum in order to make up for the previous loss. That is how our hair is depleted of natural shine and moisture.”
  • What can you eat? Try bananas, coffee and chamomile tea. These will help your hair shine the natural way.
  • Try eating plenty of fish, organic meat and dairy products.
  • Try products rich in organic butter and coconut oil.

A unique hair technique. .

I love unique ways to keep my hair healthy.

I have used the natural herb, sage on my hair. It makes hair very soft. It will soften tight curls.

Do you have a technique you would like to share?

Movie about hair

I am sure everyone has heard about the “Hair” Movie with Chris Rock. I haven’t see it yet. But we all have to agree hair is a billion if not trillion dollar industry.

For some of ethnicity, it is very costly to go to a salon to have your hair well taken care of.

Doesn’t everyone deserve to look nice and have their hair maintained.

The truth of the matter is: EVERYONE CAN’T. Or should I say there aren’t enough healthy choices out there.

If you know of a healthy hair technique that works for you, let me know. ..

Hair- Why so much emphasis on our hair?

Why is there so much emphasis on our hair?

Yes, it is true. The first thing you notice about a person is their appearance.

Our hair is a key part of that appearance.

Our environment plays a big part in how we perceive things.

Many times we don’t realize that we are being molded by what and whom is around us. Including the way we style our hair.

More important: We should be comfortable about who we are on the inside. If you like your hair natural, wear it that way. Like it straight, wear bone straight.

But we must keep our hair healthy. There are soo many chemicals being used today. Everyone wants the earth to go green. What about our bodies?

Now, I am not against a nice color, or perm. I am just saying that someone should create a healthier hair process.

What do you think?
